Who we are: This group is for parents in the Fort Collins and surrounding area that are looking for a support group in raising and nurturing their children. It is open to all who want to join, particularly people in the area with limited family support and resources. We organize meetings, plan activities, and have fun! We are parents to children ages infant through preschool. The majority of events will take place in the Fort Collins area.
RSVPing: We are all parents who know many things change at the last minute. However, it is considerate to RSVP whether or not you plan on attending. Most events will allow for a "maybe" RSVP. If you RSVP maybe, we ask that you change your reply to "yes" or "no" as soon as you can. If you must cancel last minute, which we all know happens, try your best to email or call the host. RSVPing allows for an accurate count and will help the host to know whether to cancel the event or not. I'm sure we've all been in the situation where we arrive at a meetup only to be the only person there. RSVPing can prevent this from happening.
Sick Policy: As much as we love sharing, we would appreciate all children keeping their sick germs to themselves. For this reason, we ask that you not participate in group activities if you or your child has any of the following symptoms:
- Vomiting or diarrhea
- Fever
- Rash
- Any communicable disease, including chicken pox or conjunctivitis
Please use your best judgment when you or your child shows signs of any illness. Please don't put all of our kids at risk because you feel bad about canceling. These things just happen...and we certainly understand!
Being an Active Member: No lurkers allowed! Safety is important for our children and families, so we ask that all members be active. If your account has been inactive for 1 month or more, you will be deleted from the group. To be considered active, all you have to do is login to the meetup on a regular basis. If you are deleted, you may rejoin at a time when you will be able to remain more active.
Hosting Events: Anyone can host an event! If you are interested, please speak with one of the Organizers to have it arranged. Otherwise, if you just have ideas you would like to share, please let us know. We are always open to suggestions.
Common Courtesy: Just a reminder to always be respectful of other parents and different views. We all have our own beliefs and morals, and need to remember that not everyone will share those beliefs. No one likes to feel as if they are being judged. And you never know...you might just learn something new.
