Welcome! WWW.POMWA.org is a non-profit educational meet up. We're helping to educate parents and empower kids. We bring families together to discuss issues relating to family safety. We believe that prevention education is the best tool in safeguarding your family. POMWA parents like to attend our meet ups because they are lively and engaging and do not teach the ineffective "Stranger Danger" tactics. Our intention is not to overwhelm or scare parents (nobody needs that!) but rather, want to help parents feel empowered about their family's safety! We talk to parents and kids about the "10 family safety Rules", paying attention to the "uh-oh" feeling and we give parents and kids the clues to help identify a "tricky person". We have fun outings for POMWA families and our workshops are full of helpful tools in a non-threatening and non-scary format. We have worked with PTA's, Parent Groups, and have spoken at public meetings. We know there are a lot of scary statistics out there. We can help you navigate the truth versus myths. We believe that through preventative education communities can beat the statistics. We want to help! Invite us over, you will be glad you did!
